Turmeric is an amazing, amazing herb that has so many health benefits! Turmeric helps fight against cancer, arthritis, improves liver function, offers cardiovascular protection, helps relieve headaches, lowers cholesterol, aids with ulcerative colitis and Crohn's, and protects against Alzheimer's Disease. Alzheimer's runs in my family so since learning about these benefits I have tried to add turmeric into my diet...also encouraging my dad since it is on both sides of his family!
What does it taste like? In one work...autumn! It has a warm, peppery taste with a orangey/ginger fragrance. It is really nice to have at night while relaxing.
- 1 cup almond milk
- 1tbs honey
- 1tsp turmeric
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 1 tbs coconut oil
- Sprinkle of pepper
*Fresh grated ginger to taste, if desired
*Makes one serving
Put all ingredients in small pot on stove. Heat oh high till it comes to a boil and then reduce heat to low. Simmer for 5 minutes. Serve with sprinkle of cinnamon on top.
